Director of Bands
Nick Viviano is in his third year as Director of Bands at CHHS. Prior to teaching in Douglas County, Mr. Viviano taught band and music appreciation at Boiling Springs Middle School in Inman, SC.
Mr. Viviano graduated from North Greenville University with his Bachelors in Music Education. During this time, he remained active in numerous ensembles, such as the NGU Wind Ensemble, NGU orchestra, and brass quintet. He also served as the drum major of the Crusader marching band.
Outside of the public schools, Mr. Viviano has had the pleasure of performing in and teaching ensembles of all types, sizes, and age ranges. He is a 2009 and 2011 alumnus of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as a former member of the instructional faculty for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015. Most recently, he served as the visual caption head for the Boiling Springs High School Marching Band, a Bands of America Grand National Semifinalist. He has also served as the visual caption head at Saints Percussion, an independent winter percussion ensemble from Gaffney, South Carolina.
In his spare time, Mr. Viviano enjoys reading, playing video games, cooking and relaxing with his cat, Thelonious.
Assistant Director of Athletic Bands
Michael Nedvidek is the assistant director of the CHHS Panther Band, and is in his fifth year of working with the band. He graduated from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) in 2013, where he studied music education with a focus on voice, and marched in the Redcoat Band. He has also marched as a member of Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps. He currently teaches music at Holly Springs Elementary School.
Michelle Aguirre is from Marietta, GA. She attended Marietta High School and graduated in 2016. While attending at MHS she was active in the Marietta Blue Devil Marching Band.
Ms. Aguirre completed three seasons of marching band and three seasons of winter guard at Marietta and was the captain for both the Fall season and Winter season for two years. While marching the Marietta Winter Guard program, they won gold in the Scholastic Novice class in 2016.
Having graduating from Marietta High School, she is now enrolled at Chattahoochee Technical College where she is majoring in Culinary Arts. She plans to graduate in the Winter of 2019 with her AAS degree. In addition to her collegiate ambitions, Ms. Aguirre is marching her second year with Reverie Independent Winter Guard.
Constantly in pursuit of excellence as a performer, educator, and learner, the Bands of Chapel Hill are thrilled to have Ms. Aguirre on the team!
